|Prof. Roy Liu earned his degree in Chinese Medicine (C.M.D.) at the Chinese Medicine College of Najing and his degree in Western Medicine (M.D.) at the medical school of Souzhou. He trained under Drs Wu, Huang, and Ge, three of the most renowned Chinese Herbalist and Pharmacologists. He gained experience in several areas of medicine including; internal medicine, trauma, diseases of women and children, skin disease, and cancer. He conducted research at the Chinese Medicine Institute and Teaching Hospital for over 14 years.
In 1989, Prof. Liu came to Canada and opened Joy of Herbs, the first Chinese Acupuncture And Herb Clinic called in Windsor, Ontario. In 1996, he expanded his practice to the United States. In 2002, Prof. Liu was asked by Henry Ford Hospital of Detroit to help them establish the Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine located in Novi, Michigan. Prof. Liu is the first Chinese Medicine Doctor at Henry Ford Hospital.
With over 16 years of practice in North America, Prof. Liu's work has been featured in the Detroit Free Press, Windsor Star, and Women's World Magazine. In addition he has appeared in several Detroit and Windsor news programs to discuss his success using Acupuncture, Herbal medicine, Acupressure, Magnetic therapy and Qi exercise for healing various problems.
